I love learning!
I attended a course on how to fundraise run by the Institute of Fundraising at East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action (EDVA). I knew nothing about fundraising and was looking forward to learning about all the aspects needed for successful fundraising.
Wow, there are a lot of regulations that need to be followed. Depending on the method of fundraising licences need to be granted too. It is quite a minefield of dos and don'ts.
We discussed fundraising situations which led to some very interesting ideas being swapped between everyone there.
I really enjoyed this course and will definitely use my notes I made in the future.
I have also been at a Campsie Writers' Group meeting where Pat Feehan came along and talked about his writing journey. He read extracts from his first book 'Snap Judgement' which had everyone there on the edge of their seats.
It is interesting to hear how someone else approaches their writing. I always learn something which I can use in my writing.
There was lively chat in the group particularly when one member of the Group realised he had gone to school with Pat!
What have you been learning?
