I’ve got something to show you!
I asked my daughter to create the covers for Books 1, 2 and 3 of Serena’s Adventures because I didn’t believe my drawing ability would be good enough. I was convinced someone more experienced would be better than me to create the front cover.
I’d drawn out the rough sketch of what I thought I wanted. I kept looking at it. I wondered, did I dare try to create the picture I saw in my mind?
My secret helper, my sub-conscious, had been listening to my thoughts and answered my question, ‘Yes, go for it. You can do it.’
Taking a big breath, I collected up my pens and pencils and the blank printed page with the blue outline of the front cover. The result is what you can see in the photograph in this post.
Rory, the story loving dragon, was there when I was drawing. He wanted to take a close look at my creation, as you can see.
I’m chuffed to bits!
I think my drawing is marvellous. I’m so pleased I decided to take a leap of faith and back myself. I’m going to draw all the covers from now on.
Have you taken a leap of faith? If yes, what did you do? How did you feel?
