My discovery!

My discovery!

My discovery!

When I’ve been writing the story for Book 3 of Serena’s Adventures, I’ve been observing my character, rather than being my character.

I haven't been fully immersed in the action taking place on the page. The result is disjointed writing which needs to be re-evaluated each time I come back to working on it.

This has meant carrying out a fundamental reconstruction of the story.

It has been frustrating knowing the information, on the page, needs to be re-written.

Normally, I become my character and the writing flows onto the page, with only a few edits needed. It is also quicker to complete a story with flowing writing.

When I write my next story I will ask my secret helper, my subconscious, how I can create the best conditions to produce flowing writing.

What have you been learning?

In my interactive story creating book, ‘I Can Create Stories’, children, aged between 8 – 12 years old, can read, draw, create and listen to stories. I love seeing the change, in confidence, a story can make to a child. Please message me if you’d like to know more about my book or a signed copy.
